Modern Slavery Statement for Removals Chelsea
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Removals Chelsea in respect of our financial year and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a grave violation of human rights and we are committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all our dealings.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Removals Chelsea adopts a strict zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, and child labour. This applies to all aspects of our business, including staff recruitment, subcontracted services, and procurement of goods and materials. We expect the same high standards from all those we work with, and we will not knowingly engage with any supplier or partner involved in, or turning a blind eye to, modern slavery practices.
All employees, managers, and directors are required to uphold this policy. Any breach of our zero-tolerance stance is treated as a serious disciplinary matter and may lead to termination of employment or termination of a commercial relationship.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removals Chelsea provides removal, relocation, and associated services. Our supply chains include transport and logistics partners, vehicle and equipment providers, packaging suppliers, storage facilities, and occasional specialist subcontractors. While our sector is not traditionally considered high risk, we acknowledge that risks can arise where lower-skilled or casual labour is involved, or where goods and services are sourced indirectly.
We are committed to identifying potential risk areas in our supply chains and taking proportionate steps to manage and mitigate those risks.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We require our key suppliers and subcontractors to demonstrate that they operate in accordance with all applicable laws on modern slavery and human trafficking. We assess new suppliers based on their approach to labour standards, health and safety, and ethical conduct.
Removals Chelsea conducts periodic supplier audits, which may include site visits, document reviews, and discussions with management. Where appropriate, we may request evidence of policies, workforce records, training materials, and recruitment practices to ensure that no forced, bonded, or trafficked labour is used.
If a supplier falls short of our expectations, we will seek corrective action within a reasonable timeframe. If satisfactory improvements are not made, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Employee Awareness, Conduct, and Training
All employees are expected to act with integrity and to report any concerns relating to modern slavery. Our code of conduct emphasises respect for human rights, fair treatment, and safe working conditions. Where appropriate, we provide guidance on recognising indicators of exploitation, such as restriction of movement, retention of identity documents, or signs of coercion.
We promote open communication and a culture in which staff feel comfortable raising concerns without fear of retaliation.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Removals Chelsea encourages anyone with concerns about potential modern slavery in our business or supply chains to report them promptly. Concerns can be raised internally to management or through our whistleblowing channels, which allow confidential reporting. Reports may be made by employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers, or other stakeholders.
All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly, with appropriate action taken where issues are identified. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process and requires continual vigilance. Removals Chelsea is committed to reviewing and improving our policies, procedures, and due diligence activities on a regular basis.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every year by senior management. During the review, we will assess the effectiveness of our actions, consider any incidents or concerns raised, and identify opportunities to strengthen our controls and training. Any necessary updates will be implemented and communicated within the business and, where relevant, to key suppliers.
Approval of This Statement
This statement has been approved by the management of Removals Chelsea, who are responsible for its implementation and for ensuring that our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery remains embedded throughout our operations and supply chains.
